Geotechnical
ACCURA's Geotechnical Laboratory is equipped to perform various testing scopes, which can include but is not limited to Direct Shear, Moisture Content, Atterberg Limits, and Particle Size Analysis with Hydrometer. Testing for local contractors includes geotechnical testing for an international airport and landfill construction projects as well as treatability studies for Environmental Protection Agency contractors. The Geotechnical Laboratory utilizes USACE, ASTM and AASHTO certified methods.
ACCURA has worked on many civil and environmental projects for commercial and governmental clients. We have performed testing in support of bench scale, pilot, and full-scale production stabilization and solidification projects for DOE contractors. We are experienced in a variety of bentonite/cement/pozzolan mix designs, including mixing, mold preparation, curing, and testing. We have analyzed various mix designs for Leachability Index, Immersion Properties, Radiolytic Exposure, Shrink-Swell, Initial and Final Set Times, Permeability, and Compressive Strength. We are one of the few laboratories in the country with extensive expertise in stabilization and solidification testing.
ACCURA Laboratory provides both conventional and highly specialized testing on all types of soils, sludge, solid waste materials, and solidified and stabilized materials.
Pavement Materials
ACCURA offers routine and special testing for design and evaluation services to support our pavement engineering business. Some of our testing capabilities include strength and compressibility; soundness and durability, and measurement of mechanistic parameters such as resilient modulus of soil, aggregate and asphalt concrete.
ACCURA has worked on numerous projects at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in which various material properties have been measured in order to evaluate existing conditions of the pavements serving aircraft.
This unique blend of testing capabilities are necessary for quality assurance or quality control functions during construction, but are also valuable for prequalification evaluation and post construction performance monitoring.
The testing capabilities include those common for soil, asphalt, concrete and stabilized materials (such as soil-cement, soil-lime, foamed asphalt, cement or asphalt treated base, and recycled materials). Our capabilities and professional expertise bring a value-added capability in that mechanistic parameters can be measured and true life cycle cost analyses can be performed when comparing various alternatives and the cost impact of each.
