PAVEMENT ENGINEERING
Pavement engineering combines the knowledge of soil (subgrade) in combination with mechanistic properties of engineered materials such as aggregates, asphalt concrete and Portland cement concrete in layered systems. Pavement design and material characterization has gone through evolutionary changes in the last decade. Our professionals have been an integral part of the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) and the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Long Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) study. The work provided by LTPP has led to a new mechanistic-empirical (M-E) thickness design process for pavement structures.
ACCURA provides quality professional engineering services for the purpose of site characterization and design of new pavement facilities and evaluation, analyses and preparation of maintenance, rehabilitation or reconstruction strategies for existing pavement facilities.
Our professional staff has several years of combined experience in conducting pavement-engineering services. Some of those services include:
- Site Characterization and Design Recommendations
- Surface and Subsurface Exploration (Coring/Boring)
- Structural Evaluation (Falling weight deflectometer)
- Functional Evaluation (distress surveys, smoothness and friction parameters)
- Develop Construction Specifications
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis
- Pavement Management Software Selection
- Pavement Management Software Implementation Instrumentation
- CAD/GIS Services
